County Dollars

The County Dollars Program was designed by the Lac La Biche Economic Development Department as an alternative to purchasing select gift certificates for their staff appreciation. The program ran in 2018 and 2019 with over 60 businesses participating and 622 certificates being distributed with a total of $15,550 annually spent directly with businesses in Lac La Biche County.

This program was designed to encourage community spending, along with the use of the certificates within the community the high majority of individuals spending exceeded the $25 certificate amount at the businesses they were used at.

In 2020 the Lac La Biche County passed on the initiative to the Lac La Biche & District Chamber of Commerce to adopt the administration of the County Dollar program with the intention of expanding the program beyond county employees by offering the ability for other businesses, organizations, and individuals to purchase these County Dollar gift certificates for their employee appreciation programs, celebratory events, and personal gifts. Use of the certificates encourages holders to keep their business within the community.
