Shaping the Growth of the Marketspaces – Taking It To The Streets
The Lac La Biche
& District Chamber of Commerce is planning to host temporary, summer
markets and block parties this year, which we propose to rotate through the
various blocks in the central business district. We are hoping, upon
approval by Alberta Transportation, to restrict vehicle traffic in designated
areas where the temporary markets and party events will be located.
As these planned street closures will have a
direct impact on client access to business locations, we are seeking approval
from individual business owners prior to going further with this concept. The
proposed markets will be scheduled to run from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Our
proposed schedule of dates and locations are as follows;
Friday, July 26, 2019 – Block between ATB
Financial and Lac La Biche Sporting Goods
Friday, August 16, 2019 – Block between Highway
36 Junction and Twintel
Friday, August 30, 2019 – Block between Value
Drug Mart and Smiley’s Furniture
Our alternative plan is to request permission
from Lac La Biche County and business owners to allow vendors to be on the
sidewalk in front of the business or to find another location that meets with
everyone’s approval.
A representative of
the Lac La Biche & District Chamber of Commerce will stop by to drop
off/pick up a survey and to discuss your concerns with the proposed Chamber
Market concept or recommendations for future small projects aimed at attracting
and retaining customers and growing our local shopping experience.
